Ajay's First Time on Hockey Skates

On this past Sat. the USA National Hockey Association had national free skate at all the arena’s.  So we all went to McFarland’s ice arena and Gregg took Ajay out.  He did really well!  It was an hour long and he lasted about 40 minutes.  Before he got out on the ice with Gregg he looked at me and said “look at me mom I can stand on skates”!  As in one of the pictures he was holding onto what looks like a walker which actually is all metal and helps him balance as he pushes along the ice.  He got the hang of it and was able to move around on the ice by himself.  It was a great father-son bonding time and made me feel so proud of the both of them.  He says he wants to keep doing it.  So we are going to look for some little skates and Gregg said he would take him out to practice.  If it is still something he likes we will look into learn to skate lessons for him. 

Happy Halloween

These two are all ready to get out and trick-or-treat!  They were both up at 5:10 this morning....I guess all the excitement about their school Halloween parties and going out tonight they just couldn't sleep anymore!

Little Chicks

Hayleigh's 1st grade class raised some chicks right in their classroom.  Out of the 12 eggs they had 4 of them hatched.  We went last night to check them out.

Happy Birthdays

On Wed. Gregg and Hayleigh celebrated their birthdays.  Hayleigh had her birthday party that night at Bouncy Town with her cousins and girlfriends from school.  They all had a great time!  She got some really nice gifts from her family and friends.  Gregg is celebrating turning 40 this weekend down in Houston as he attends the Packer/Texan football game with his little brother and some other family that live in Houston.

Popcorn and Movie Night

Last Sat. night we enjoyed making some air popped popcorn from our new popcorn popper.  The kids had fun watching it and we all had a great laugh when the popcorn started going all over the place!

Apple Dip Making

Ajay and I made some yummy apple carmel dip and not sure if he had more fun using the mixer or licking the beaters!

My little helper

I love it that the kids are more willing to help out around the house! Ajay loves to help vacuum and I love it that he loves to help! Little does he know but he is "in training" for the future!

Riding a two wheeler

Last weekend the neighborhood kids were down playing at our house and one of all the kids favorite thing to do is trade bikes to ride. Ajay surprised me by riding one of their friends bike up and down the sidewalk with no training wheels. He learned and did this all on his own no help from either one of us.  Do we possibly have a child "sport" prodigy on our hands??

First Day of School

First day of school was a hit for both the kiddo's!!  They were both excited!  I think the bus couldn't get to our house fast enough for Ajay!  Can't believe they are both riding the bus this year.  Brought some tears to my eyes yesterday have a little bit of "empty house" feelings.  Makes all those little moments shine more in my eyes!

Noah's Ark

Bapa (a.k.a. Gregg's dad) got us tickets to Noah's Ark so with a weekend open we loaded up the kids and a cooler and headed to the Dells on Sat. 8-25.  It was a great day for an outdoor waterpark!  We did many tube rides and so many waterslides.  It was a great fun family outing!

Little Amerikka

As summer is winding down we are trying to squeeze in a few more fun summer activities. So on Tuesday, Aug. 21 we went to Little Amerikka with the Connor and Bautz families.  The kiddo's had a blast along with myself.  Ajay loved the bumper cars and Hayleigh loved "it all".  My favorite was the Tilt-a-Whirl....boy we got our car a spinning! The kids lastest the whole 6 hours of riding rides and we were all in bed early that night!

Camping at Governer Dodge

We had a great weekend camping with the Connor and Brackman families.  Couldn't have asked for any better and comfortable weather we were actually chilly.  We all commented that we couldn't believe it was only 2 weeks ago we camped and we were sweating buckets! We played many outdoor games, went to the beach, kids rode their bikes, and we sat down as a family and played UNO Friday morning in the camper waiting till everyone else woke up.  Here are a few pictures....Hayleigh got the short end of the stick when it came to pictures.....everytime I wanted to take a picture of her our camera did some weird things.  Again some great family memories to add to my collection!
